CARE Program
CARE stands for Comprehensive Abortion and Reproductive Education. We believe that women need and deserve health care that pays attention to their emotional, social, and physical needs.
Women have the right to decide what is best for them. They deserve excellent care and support whether they decide to continue a pregnancy or not.
The CARE Program began at the BC Women's Health Centre in 1994 after the closure of Shaughnessy Hospital.
This program is for women:
- Who are experiencing an unintended or unwanted pregnancy
- Who require an abortion for genetic or medical reasons
What to expect:
- Confidentiality
- A caring, supportive atmosphere
- High quality medical care
- An opportunity to examine all your options with regard to the pregnancy
- Access to information about women's health
